First Impressions
Gone are the days when all Bubble Tubes cost thousands of dollars. But, how good can a $100 bubble tube really be and why do I need one? Bubble tubes are a staple in calming corners or sensory rooms. There are many benefits to using bubble tubes. They can be used to calm and relax but also to grab attention and focus. The color changing lights help with color recognition and the soft vibrating sound can be soothing and provide additional sensory feedback. The sound emitted from these is subtle but very calming in my opinion. You can work on counting and visual tracking skills by asking the child to help you count "how many fish" as the move up and down in the tube.
My Personal Experience With This Product
I have used these in my own OT room in my calming corner. I have placed these in calming rooms and corners in Special Education classrooms as well. I often have kids go sit and look at a book, puzzle, build with block, or something else calming prior to an OT session or prior to returning to class if the activity that we did seems to have them dysregulated. This bubble tube is a favorite of students off all ages and with all types of needs. They often ask me to "turn the fish on" when they are in my room. Quite honestly, I love having them on for my own nervous system needs. I have had the same one in my office now for 3 years and it is still going strong. How cool is it to have one of these in your own office? The price point even makes it feasible for many parents to have one at home for their child.

The Final Score
I have been working in Pediatrics for 20 years now. I have been in places with the tubes that cost $1000 plus. I have ordered several of these over the last 5 years to be utilized in classrooms and calming rooms. I give these tubes 4.5 out of 5 stars !
